About Unicorn

Unicorn Kids Boutique was founded by Lu Wang, a young and fashionable mother of two children. She and her family live in Vancouver - one of the best places to live in the world. Her son is four years old; his favourite colours are blue and green. He enjoys all the outdoor activities and loves marine organisms. Her two years old daughter can be quite a diva sometimes, she is like a princess, and she has everything in pink.

At Unicorn Kids Boutique, you can find all the fashionable clothes for your kids. Lu believes the kids should be both fashionable and comfortable. She puts the quality of the materials as her top priority. They are specialized in clothes for 0-14 years old. Most of our designer brands are from Europe, North America, and Australia, which follows the international standards (GOTS®/ Oeko-Tex®/ REACH). Every product is an art piece itself; our belief is to make sure our kids wear high quality yet fashionable clothes through their childhood.

Our selection criteria for brands include:

  • Material mostly made of organic cotton or prime cotton so it is soft for children’s skin
  • Clothing does not contain any substances that trigger common allergies
  • Clothing does not contain any toxic substance; this is especially important, since children have the tendency to put things into their mouths
  • Durable, able to withstand daily wear and tear of the children’s active lifestyle
  • Stylish and fashionable, fun to wear

Global Organic Textile Standard certificate. This means that our garments contain for at least 70% organic fibers. Through the whole chain, from harvesting the raw materials, through the production, which contains social criteria rules, until the packaging the strict rules for organic cotton will be followed. This worldwide standard will make sure that environmentally friendly chemicals will be used and discourage the waste of water. Furthermore the GOTS certificate has a standard on the social criteria of the cotton industry. This contains matters like minimum wage, interdiction on child labor and a safe and a healthy work environment.

The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is a worldwide consistent, independent testing and certification system for raw, semi-finished, and finished textile products at all processing levels, as well as accessory materials used. Examples of articles that can be certified: raw and dyed/finished yarns, woven and knitted fabrics, accessories, such as buttons, zip fasteners, sewing threads or labels, ready-made articles of various types (garments of all types, domestic and household textiles, bed linen, terry products and much more).

Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) is a European Union regulation dated 18 December 2006. REACH addresses the production and use of chemical substances, and their potential impacts on both human health and the environment. Its 849 pages took seven years to pass, and it has been described as the most complex legislation in the Union’s history and the most important in 20 years. It is the strictest law to date regulating chemical substances and will affect industries throughout the world. REACH entered into force on 1 June 2007, with a phased implementation over the next decade. The regulation also established the European Chemicals Agency, which manages the technical, scientific and administrative aspects of REACH.
