The 12,000 mm (WP) rating alone only describes the fabric. It is the fully taped seams that push MATWANG from water-repellent into genuinely waterproof, since even a highly rated fabric lets water through untaped stitching in sustained rain, which matters most on days when a child stays outside for hours rather than making a quick dash between doors.

A stated warmth test down to -25°C reflects the combination of THERMOLITE padding and a soft fleece lining through the body, which hold warmth close to the skin while a child is relatively still. Once play gets more active, 8,000g/m²/24h breathability lets that same built-up heat and moisture escape, which is what avoids the damp, chilled feeling that follows strenuous play in less breathable outerwear.

The detachable hood's elastic-string adjustment keeps wind out during colder stretches, and removing it entirely on milder days avoids unnecessary bulk around the neck. Snow cuffs with a thumb opening close the small gap between jacket and glove that would otherwise let snow reach the wrist, and the elastic-adjustable inside waist lets the same jacket be tightened as the season's layering changes.
